Cuteaholic is a website I started in college when I was first learning HTML and CSS. My boyfriend at the time (now husband) owned a content management system called Pligg, which helps people create websites where a community of website visitors submit articles and vote on which stories should appear on the homepage.
Cuteaholic was supposed to be a website where members shared cute videos and photos of people and animals. My first attempt at Cuteaholic was not so successful, partly because I didn’t have much experience, but also because Pligg was still in beta and didn’t have a lot of features that I needed to create a gallery-style website.
But now, a couple years later, Pligg is 4 years old and has a lot of new modules that were perfect for my Cuteaholic redesign. I used the Upload Module to add photos and the Video Plus module to add videos which display in a pretty Lightbox. The template is a custom design that took up many of my free weekends to get right, but I am very happy with it and I am still making small adjustments whenever I have a chance.
