Every year, the the American Diabetes Association office in Savannah, Georgia has a fundraiser called Kiss-A-Pig, where people compete to raise the most funds for Diabetes research. The winner receives the honor of kissing a pig (insulin initially came from pigs), at a celebration at the end of the campaign. George Pantazis, Lindsey Williams, Theron Humphrey, and I collaborated as a group to create a theme and printed materials for the event. We decided to create a theme around the elections, which we predicted would be a popular topic when the fundraiser kicked off.
The ADA chose to use our proposed theme, and changed the title to “HAMocracy in Action.” The campaign was a huge success, and raised a record–breaking total of $370,000 for a cure.
