Who I am and where I’ve been.
I am a recent Graphic Design graduate, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The Savannah College of Art and Design (commonly known as SCAD). Although my training was mostly focused on designing for print, I have now found myself designing for the web. I am working as a full-time web designer at NetSource Technologies, based in sunny Florida. You can read more about what I’ve done on my résumé page.
I am newly married to Eric Heikkinen, who really motivated me to learn about web design, and is constantly keeping me up to date. He is also the founder of the content management system, Pligg.
Back in the days when I was known as Christie Pedder, I lived in Northern Virginia with my parents, sisters Wendy and Bonnie, and two fluffy pooches.
The story behind Distie.
When I was very little, I had trouble saying my own name. I started calling myself Distie instead of Christie, and the name has followed me into adulthood—despite my perfect pronunciation today!
