New page added under the professional work section, called Mother Knows Best. I worked with a couple other designers this summer to develop a logotype, color palette, and printed materials for a local maternity magazine.
The masthead we created is a logotype that is abstract and symbolic. The curved shape that surrounds the "o" in the word "Mother" represents feelings of protection, treasuring, and embracing. Instead of illustrating these words literally, we wanted to create a visual interpretation of it. The other printed materials continue the theme of the logotype, by using curved shapes that hug the edge of the paper. All the stationary is printed on a creme colored paper that has a linen texture.

Images added to the student work: other section. I recently completed a package design class, and our final was to create packaging for a fictional company. I decided to create candy boxes for a company called Polly. The boxes use bright colored stripes on the outside, and on the inside a solid color was used to contrast with the color of the candy. (Yes, I actually made the candy!) These colors were chosen to make the company look cheerful and inviting.
The gift bag is simple in contrast to the boxes. It is made of clear acetate to show off the contents inside. White ribbon continues the stripe theme, and frames the logo.
